Right to rent and your experiences

We have had a conversation with a couple of bodies within the property industry and it seems that the Government is considering updating its Right to Rent guidance following the launch of the scheme.
The scheme as we know came into force in February this year which requires landlords in England to check that all new tenants have a right to rent in the UK.
When we spoke to the RLA they mentioned that they are asking landlords to share their experiences of Right to Rent so they can lobby the government and hopefully discuss potential changes to the scheme.
It is important that as an industry we share our experiences and channel them through the RLA. For instance due to lobbying the Government announced last month that landlords will no longer be immediately criminalised for failing to identify illegal tenants, as changes to the Immigration Bill, landlords who take reasonable steps in an appropriate time frame to terminate tenancies of those living in the country illegally.
Therefor we are asking landlords and letting agents to either share with us or the RLA experiences of the right to rent scheme

I have lived in this country for 10yrs and until recently had no problem finding places to rent. Now the paperwork seems to go on forever and the costs increasing.
